Gerotor Design Studio Version 2.0 is a unique, fully featured CAD/ CAM solution to the difficult task of designing, analysing and manufacturing gerotor pumping elements. These pumping elements are used in many types of fluid transfer and hydraulic power applications across the World as they offer significant benefits over traditional 'spur gear' type pumps (package size, smoother fluid delivery, more efficient, less noise, etc.).
Although the gerotor element has been around for a long time and its benefits are well documented, it has not been an easy shape to produce for the small manufacturer. Hence anyone involved with pump design wishing to use a gerotor set has had to use an 'off the shelf' item from one of the major gerotor manufacturers. Whilst this is an acceptable method of obtaining gerotors, you generally have to design the pump around what is available. If you were able to design your own gerotor sets (and be able to manufacture them) you would have complete control over your pump design and manufacture processes.
The original Gerotor Design Studio allowed for the design, modelling and manufacture of the gerotor elements alone. With Gerotor Design Studio V2.0 the user now has the capability to design the porting for the pump housing, analyse the performance of the pump (greatly reducing the number of design-make-test iterations) and be able to produce CAD models for multiple 3d modelling packages.
In addition, the language used throughout the software can be selected by the user - English or German - and the program still supports metric and imperial (inch) units.

GDS V2.0 will assist you in the design and
/ or manufacture of your own gerotor pumping elements. It will allow you to
create 'one-off' gerotor sets for use in testing or prototype manufacture
and will also allow you to produce the information required to make production
tooling. You will be able to analyse the performance of your pump right on
the desktop, allowing you to make the necessary changes to get the flow /
pressure characteristics you desire. Detailed performance results in .csv
and graphical formats can be produced from withinthe software.
GDS V2.0 has the ability to produce 3D CAD Solid models for use in your pump
assembly model. Packages now supported are AutoCAD, Solid Edge, SolidWorks
and Catia V5. Models of the pumping elements AND the ports can be produced
automatically with the click of a button DXF files can also be produced for
the gerotor and port profiles if access to the supported modelling packages
is not available.
GDS V2.0 is able to create CNC Output Files for use in the manufacture of
your gerotors AND the porting. These files can be used with CNC mills and
wire erosion machines to quickly produce prototypes for testing or for producing
production tools. Machine types supported now include CNC lathes.
This software is available from this web site as a FREE to use, fully featured (no lockouts), installation. However, there is a limitation on the number of uses (10) after which a registration key must be purchased in order to continue using the software. The registration key is available either on-line or (for company registrations only) via a traditional order number / invoice route for just £495 (UK Pounds) per license.
